We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Apart from our union with Christ every effort to imitate Christ, no matter how noble and inspired at the outset, inevitably leads to legalism and spiritual defeat. But once you understand the doctrine of union with Christ, you see that God doesn’t ask us to attain to what we’re not. He only calls us to accomplish what already is. The pursuit of holiness is not a quixotic effort to do just what Jesus did. It’s the fight to live out the life that has already been made alive in Christ.
Kevin DeYoung

The doctrines of grace, and specifically the doctrine of limited atonement, empower evangelism rather than hinder it. Embracing these wonderful biblical truths allows one to boldly and clearly declare the good news of the gospel, knowing that the power is not in our presentation of it or in the audience’s ability to understand it or desire to believe it, but, instead, rests solely upon an all-powerful God who has determined to save people from every tribe, tongue and nation.

1 c Sugar
24 lg Marshmallows
1 pk Coconut
1/2 c Evaporated milk

1 c Almond slices; toasted

INSTRUCTIONS

Here's a recipe for Almond Joy Cake that I made to take to our church
potluck dinner tomorrow. I got the recipe from one of the recipe lists
awhile back. It was submitted by a person named Penchard. It looks and
smells so good that I may not be able to keep my husband out of it until
tomorrow.
Bake cake as directed on package. Combine in large saucepan 1 cup
evaporated milk and 1 cup sugar, bring to boil and stir in marshmallows
until melted. Add coconut, and pour over cake while both are hot. Melt
together the remaining milk, butter and chocolate chips. Stir until melted,
and add the almond slices. Pour on top of warm cake.
NOTE: I baked mine in a 9x13 pan. I also poked some holes in the top of the
baked cake before pouring the coconut mixture over all. Posted to TNT -
