Doing nothing only reinforces depression and leads to greater unfaithfulness. By the same token, never use activity to narcotize (dull) the pain. Give it to the Lord. Rest, relaxation, and solitude with the Lord needs the balance of involvement in faithful work and ministry, but always out of a spirit of faith, never just activity.
God does not promise material rewards to those who become His and who give themselves completely to the Person of Christ. He may turn a man’s material prosperity into poverty that God might teach Him the lesson of the sufficiency of Jesus Christ. God might strip away what a man has to show a man where His love actually was so that a man might become a disciple of Christ. We have no promise that our bank accounts will automatically double when we commit ourselves to Him.
GLAZE
Heat oven to 350F. Generously grease bundt or 10-inch tube pan. Gently
press 1/2 c. chopped almonds in bottom and half way up sides of pan. In
large bowl, combine cake mix, 1/2 c orange juice, water, oil, almond
extract and eggs at low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at high
speed. Stir in whole almond. Carefully pour batter into prepared pan. Bake
at 350F for 35-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out
clean. cool upright in pan 10 min.; invert onto serving plate. In small
bowl, combine all glaze ingredients;blend well. Spoon over warm cake. Cool
completely. The "Almond Legend" is that whoever gets the whole almond is
