We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

All that was necessary to prohibit an abortion [in the Bible] was the command, “You shall not murder” (Ex. 20:13). Every Israelite knew that the preborn child was a child. So do we, if we are honest. We all know a pregnant woman is “carrying a child.”

Certainly, in Matthew 7:1, Jesus did forbid judging in one sense… But for now, note that if you read through that same gospel of Matthew, you’ll find that Jesus also clearly called us to rebuke others for sin, even rebuking them publicly if need be (Matt. 18:15-17; cf. Luke 17:3). Whatever Jesus meant by not judging in Matthew 7, He didn’t mean to rule out the kind of judging He mandated in Matthew 18… If you think about it, it is not really surprising that we as a church should be instructed to judge. After all, if we cannot say how a Christian should not live, how can we say how a Christian should live?

INGREDIENTS

2 c Skim milk
2 T Nonfat dry milk powder
1 1/2 T Unsweetened cocoa
2 T Sugar, or to taste
2 T Cornstarch -heaping, mixed
with
3 T Skim milk, cold
1/4 t Pure vanilla extract
Maraschino cherries
optional

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine the skim milk, milk powder, cocoa, and sugar in a 3-quart
stainless steel saucepan. Bring to a boil on high heat, stirring
constantly. Lower heat to prevent the mixture from boiling over. Add
the cornstarch mixture gradually while stirring at the same time. When
the milk thickens to the consistency of cake batter, which happens
almost immediately, remove and set aside. (If the milk does not
thicken easily, add 1 Tbl. cornstarch mixed with 2 Tbl. cold milk.)
Stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into a fancy serving
dish and allow to cool. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours to enable the
pudding to set. When the pudding feels firm (test by tipping the bowl
gently), garnish with cherries or your favorite fat-free topping.
