We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

We all want grace, but we cannot enjoy grace when there is an attitude of comparing.
Jerry Bridges

The devil may be fawning and wily to break one's commitment to God, or he may be hostile and deadly. He appeals to the innate selfishness of humans to get us to disobey God: “You desire things, you deserve them, and you will get them.” The word that we can gain anything we want in life – wealth, health, the perfect mate, business success, respect from others – is irresistible to those who are obsessed with themselves. The devil can quote Scripture and tell lies about God so that evil masquerades as something good. He can get persons to believe that their personal interests are indistinguishable from God's interests. When we do not get what we want, the devil uses a snake-headed bitterness that rears up from the caverns of the heart to destroy others and ourselves. Satan also tries to lead us to mistrust God and so to put God to the test.

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2 c All-purpose flour; to 3 cups
1 ts Salt
1/2 c Cornmeal
1/4 oz Dry yeast -; (1 pkg)
2 tb Butter; softened
2 1/2 tb Molasses

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat griddle to low. Combine half of the flour, the salt,
cornmeal, and yeast in a bowl with the butter. Stir the molasses and
warm water together and beat into the flour mixture gradually. Add
enough of the remaining flour, about 1/4 cup, to make a stiff dough

longer sticky. Turn out onto a floured board and knead until smooth,
about 8 minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with
plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place until it doubles in size.
Punch down to form an oblong ball. Roll out on a floured surface to
form a rectangle, about 1/2-inch thick. Brush griddle with olive oil.
Place dough on griddle and cook on each side 4 to 5 minutes. This
recipe yields 1 loaf.
