The church’s goal is not to make unbelievers feel comfortable and nonthreatened. On the contrary, it is to make them feel uncomfortable with their sins and threatened by God’s judgment and the terrors of hell that they face.
Can we pray for justice, and yet love our enemy at the same time? The answer is yes…We will magnify the mercy of God by praying for our enemies to be saved and reconciled to God. At the personal level we will be willing to suffer for their everlasting good, and we will give them food and drink. We will put away malicious hatred and private vengeance. But at the public level we will also magnify the justice of God by praying and working for justice to be done on earth, if necessary through wise and measured force from God-ordained authority.
CARAMEL GLAZE
CAKE: Soften butter and shortening. Add sugar. Beat 10 minutes with mixer
at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time. Add other ingredients. Beat well.
Bake in 10-inch tube pan at 325 for 90 minutes. CARAMEL GLAZE: Combine all
ingredients and boil for 10 minutes. Drizzle over warm cake. Note: If well
covered, cake will stay moist for many days. This is a large cake and makes
too much batter for a bundt pan. A winner at the Texas State Fair!
