God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Prayer is not conquering God’s reluctance, but taking hold of God’s willingness.
Phillips Brooks

The reason people do not come to Christ is not because they lack a will, or a mind, or feelings, or even lack opportunity and occasion. Their not coming to Christ is due to their moral and spiritual refusal to do so, a refusal in which they willingly and freely delight. If they cannot come it is not because God will not let them. It is because it is their nature not to want to come. In sum, their not coming is not because of a physical defect but because of a moral refusal.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
American Dessert 8 Servings

INGREDIENTS

4 Apples; halved & cored
1/2 c Maple syrup
1 tb Butter; melted
3/4 c Water

INSTRUCTIONS

Such a special treat. Apple seeds were brought from England, but the
wonderful flavor of maple syrup was here waiting for those apples. This is
the legitimate ancestor of the more common baked apple.
Place the apples in a tightly fitting baking dish, cut side up. Mix the
remaining ingredients and pour over the apples. Bake at 350°, uncovered,
for 1-1/2 to 2 hours, or until the apples are soft and the syrup has
reduced and is fairly thick. Baste 3 or 4 times during the baking process.
