We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

In the lives of many churchgoers today, there is a yawning chasm between profession and action, professed faith and works – and that chasm gives the lie to people’s loud claims to real faith.
Kent Hughes

God wants you to be holy. Through faith He already counts you holy in Christ. Now He intends to make you holy with Christ. This is no optional plan, no small potatoes. God saved you to sanctify you. God is in the beautification business, washing away spots and smoothing out wrinkles. He will have a blameless bride. He promised to work in you; He also calls you to work out. “The beauty of holiness” is first of all the Lord’s (Ps. 29:2, KJV). But by His grace it can also be yours.

Here is an apple ring recipe from our Kerr Home Canning Book, published
1948:
Select firm apples that will not mush in processing. Prepare a thin or
medium syrup (see below). Flavor the syrup with cinnamon according to taste
and add enough red food coloring to give desired shade to apples. Peel
apples, leave whole, quarter or slice, boil 3 to 5 minutes in the syrup.
Pack in to clean Kerr jars and fill to within 1/2 inch of top of jar with
syrup in which the apples were precooked. Put on cap, screwing band firmly
tight. Process 25 minutes in a boiling water bath or 10 minutes in pressure
cooker.
