God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
Jesus underscores the fact that death seals one’s fate, when He says to the Pharisees, “If you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins” (John 8:24). Hebrews 9:27 agrees: “Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.”
I have taken all of my bad deeds and put them on a heap, and I have taken my good deeds as well, and I have put them on the same heap. And I have run away from that heap into the arms of Jesus. I die in peace.
Saute all the vegetables in a large soup pot with the
2 tablespoons butter until vegetables are limp. Add
chicken broth and simmer until turnips are tender.
Cool slightly, then process a little at a time through
a blender. Return soup to the pot and add the
half-and-half. Re-heat gently and serve hot, garnished
with a sprig of fresh dill. Submitted by: Mayor Kerry
