Name: Asparagus Soup
Ingredients: 1/4 c Minced onion; 2 tb Butter; 1 c (1/4 lb.) thinly sliced asparagus; 1/2 ts Paprika; 3 c Chicken broth; 6 tb Whipping cream; 2 tb Cornstarch; 2 tb Water

What must not be lost sight of is that unpleasant as is the task of the jailer and the use of the whip, the cell, the noose, the guillotine, these things stand behind the stability of civilized society, and they stand there necessarily, for God has declared it so, in harmony with reality, rather than with apostate sociological opinion. Government, with its coercive powers is a social necessity, but one determined by the Creator, not by the statistical tables of some university social research staff! No society can successfully vote fines, imprisonment, corporal and capital punishment away permanently. The society which tries has lost touch with realities of man (his fallen sinful state), realities of the world, and the truth of divine revelation in nature, man's conscience, and the Bible (Robert Culver).

Realize that when you put your faith in Jesus Christ, there can be no holding back. Your will must hand God its letter of resignation. For unless you submit to God's will in everything, you are not submitting to Him in anything. Think about it. If you only follow God's will when it happens to correspond to your own will, then you never have to surrender at all. You are simply asking God to endorse your own agenda as often as He can. But if you want new life in Christ, you must adopt God's agenda and throw away your own.

Asparagus Soup

INGREDIENTS

1/4	c	Minced onion
2	tb	Butter
1	c	(1/4 lb.) thinly sliced asparagus
1/2	ts	Paprika
3	c	Chicken broth
6	tb	Whipping cream
2	tb	Cornstarch
2	tb	Water

INSTRUCTIONS

Cook onion in butter until onion is soft. Add asparagus and paprika and
cook, stirring until asparagus turns bright green. Stir in chicken broth
and whipping cream. Heat to boiling. Blend together the cornstarch and
water and stir into soup. Cook until thickened. Season to taste with salt
and pepper. Serves 4 to 6.
