Jesus did not die to increase our self-esteem. Rather, Jesus died to bring glory to the Father by redeeming people from the curse of sin. Of course, the cross has many benefits, one being that we are no longer cast out of the presence of God and we have intimacy with the Holy One. But the cross deals with our sin problem, our spiritual need.

[Jesus] saves His people from their sins. This is His special office. He saves them from the guilt of sin, by washing them in His own atoning blood. He saves them from the dominion of sin, by putting in their hearts the sanctifying Spirit. He saves them from the presence of sin, when He takes them out of this world to rest with Him. Baby Lima Beans Or Broad Beans With Italian Sausage

INGREDIENTS

1/2 lb Italian bulk sausage
crumbled
1 Onion, sliced
2 c Water
1 lb Baby lima beans or broad
beans
1/2 t Ground cumin seed
1 Fresh hot red pepper, seeded
and chopped
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Place the sausage and onion in a heavy casserole or sauce pan and
saute until light brown. Add the water and bring to the boil. Add the
beans, cumin seed, and hot pepper and bring back to the boil. Cover,
reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Season well with salt and pepper.
