We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The New Testament makes it clear that no church is exempt from conflict. Yet this very friction offers opportunities for interpersonal and spiritual growth. To assist in such growth, Jesus sanctioned the work of a peacemaker (Mat. 5:9). In this vein, Jesus is the ultimate role model (Eph. 2:14-18). Since mediation is a God-ordained pattern (1 Tim. 2:5), all Christians in conflict ought to adopt God's pattern for making peace as a reflection of their shared faith (Phil. 4:2-3).
Kenneth Newberger

As is so often the case, when we live coram Deo, before the face of God, the thinking of the world gets turned upside down. My freedom consists in large part in being free of the lies of the culture, in believing God’s truth when all around me stumble in the darkness. I need not believe that children are a burden nor that my headship in my home is a heinous crime against equality. I need believe neither that manliness consists of owning a powerful truck, nor that manliness is having the power to blubber like a baby. Because God the Father has adopted me as His son, I am no longer a slave to folly. Because I am free, I no longer believe the lies of my former father, the father of lies. Because the shackles have been loosed and the blinders removed, I know I need to fear no man, but God alone. Our Captain and King has freed us so that we might be free men, and such are men indeed.

INSTRUCTIONS

In our local newspaper there was a piece about a new cookbook,
*Looneyspoons* by Janet and Greta Podleski. Low fat, but really not low
enough for this group, at least in the recipes they shared, but could be
easily adapted I think. Also there are meat based recipes in the book. The
following is something I'm going to try, adjusting for fatfree.
Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and process until
smooth. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving. Serve with pita. Makes 1
1/2 cups.
Comments from the authors: *This recipe is a creamy, garlicky dip made of
lean beans that is similar to hummus, but lower in fat. and make it once
and everyone will be begging you to make it again, it is a recipe that
really gets around.*
Nutrition Data (as per ORIGINAL recipe) Calories 73 Carbohydrates 14 g

I believe this is acceptable for this list with the adaptions *starred and
it is a bit different from other bean dips I've seen on this list,
especially the coriander.
