We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The biblical criterion for misplaced shame says, don't feel shame for something that honors God, no matter how weak or foolish or wrong it makes you look in the eyes of men. And don't feel shame for bad circumstances where you don't share in dishonoring God. The biblical criterion for well-placed shame says, DO feel shame for having a hand in anything that dishonors God, no matter how strong or wise or right it makes you look in the eyes of men.
John Piper

The strength of temptation also comes from a tendency to push virtues to such an extreme that they become vices. For example, it is all too easy for the joy of eating to become gluttony, or for the blessing of rest to become sloth, or for the peace of quietness to become non-communication, or for industriousness to become greed, or for liberty to be turned into an excuse for licentiousness. We all know what it’s like for pleasure to become sensuality, or for self-care to become selfishness, or for self-respect to become conceit, or for wise caution to become cynicism and unbelief, or for righteous anger to become unrighteous rage, or for the joy of sex to become immorality, or for conscientiousness to become perfectionism. The list could go on endlessly…

INSTRUCTIONS

BROTH
RISOTTO
BROTH (30 min) Clean the shrimp, devein. Reserve the shells. Place shrimp
shells in large saucepan. Add garlic, onion, carrot, celery, parsley, water
and salt to taste. Simmer gently 20-25 minutes. Strain, discard shells and
vegetables, reserve broth and set aside.
RISOTTO (25 min) Heat 2 tablespoons oil in *large* skillet, saute onion and
garlic lightly, add shrimp, salt and pepper. Saute just until pink. Set
aside; shrimp may be cut in half, if desired.
In the same *large* skillet, over medium heat, combine oil and butter (or
use all butter or oil), saute onion and garlic until wilted but don't
brown. Add rice. Stir to coat, add a cup of the reserved shrimp broth,
cook, stirring frequently until rice has absorbed liquid. Add diced tomato
and wine. Continue cooking and stirring, adding broth 1 cup at a time,
until rice is creamy and tender but al dente (about 3 cups). This should
take about 18 minutes; adding shrimp during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
Add more broth if necessary. Stir in cheese just before serving. One
tablespoon of butter can also be mixed in at the end for extra creaminess.
Serve immediately.
