We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Can we have any hope that one who commits suicide does indeed place their trust in the finished work of Christ alone? Can a person, confident in God’s grace, hoping for His mercy, ever reach such a level of despair as to commit this grievous sin? Yes. While the faith which saves is sanctifying in us, it does not on this side of the veil finish the job. Any time any of us sin we are gainsaying our commitment to the gospel. We are implicitly affirming that our hope is in something other than Christ. That, however, is precisely why we need Christ – because we are sinners who place our hope in other things, because we are sinners who lose sight of His promises, because we are sinners who focus on our hardships rather than His provision.

INGREDIENTS

3 1/2 c All-purpose flour plus
1/2 c For dusting your work surface
4 Jumbo eggs
1 tb Virgin olive oil
2 tb Finely ground fresh black pepper
; (in coffee grinder)

INSTRUCTIONS

Make a mound of the flour in the center of a large wooden cutting
board. Make a well in the middle of the flour and add the eggs, oil
and pepper. Using a fork, beat together the eggs, oil and pepper and
begin to incorporate the flour starting with the inside As you expand
the well, keep pushing the flour up to retain the well shape. Do not
worry that this initial phase looks messy. The dough will come
togetherwhen half of the flour is incorporated. Start kneading the
dough with both hands, using the palms of your hands. Once you have a
cohesive mass, remove the dough from the board and scrape up any
leftover crusty bits. Discard these bits. Lightly flour the board and
continue kneading for 3 more minutes. Note: Do not skip the kneading
or resting portion of this recipe. They are essential for a light
pasta.
