We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Some people like to read so many chapters every day. I would not dissuade them from the practice, but I would rather lay my soul asoak in half a dozen verses all day than rinse my hand in several chapters. Oh, to be bathed in a text of Scripture, and to let it be sucked up into your very soul, till it saturates your heart! Set your heart upon God's Word! Let your whole nature be plunged into it as a cloth into a dye!
C.H. Spurgeon

Some would suggest that Jesus was “seeker sensitive” in that He worked His miracles in order to attract large crowds to which He could share the gospel. But in several passages it is plain this is not His motive: Mark 5:43; 7:36; 8:26, 30; and Luke 4:9-12 (and these are by no means exhaustive). Clearly, Christ did not intend these miraculous works for public exploitation. There is little to indicate Christ worked miracles in order to draw a crowd. He was opposed to selling the gospel by appealing to their love for the sensational. (See Jn. 2:23-25)… He sharply rebuked the five thousand for seeking Him for merely physical satisfaction. Jesus did not teach us to draw people to Him by appealing to their senses. Instead He claimed full responsibility for drawing all to Himself by way of the cross (Jn. 12:32); therefore, exalting Christ, "and Him crucified," is to be the primary object in worship, as well as evangelism. (See Rev. 5:8.)

INGREDIENTS

Bread
Lettuce
Bacon
Chiles
Mayo: could be chipotle mayo, or just the regular Dole-style plain Jalapenos, Poblanos, or any chile with medium to low heat, and thick flesh, I used a Jal/poblano hybrid

INSTRUCTIONS

Fry bacon to crispy, drain, pour off excess bacon grease, leave a little in
pan for flavor. Slice strips off chiles so that it will lay flat on pan and
sammich. Fry chile strips quickly skin-side down till just browned; remove
and drain-off grease. Prepare your favorite bread with your favorite mayo,
then layer lettuce, then bacon, and more lettuce to keep the bread from
sogging-out while you make some more for the rest of us Chile-Heads. Note:
It does not matter which way the strips are placed, as long as they are
perpendicular to the bacon. If your toilet flushes backwards, call a
Coriolis plumber, Neh? I know; you're saying: Can we add tomatoes too? Naw!
They are superfluous and I'll have to re-name the recipe. Chiles give you
all the vitamin C, aren't as mushy as tomatoes, and should be better for
your brian cells and outlook on life. You can add more chiles, or chili, or
chilly to your hearts content; let me know how it comes out. New-Mex's like
a Joe Parker would work too, but you'll have to blacken and scrape the
tougher skins before frying. MMMM .. where's the propane bottle? (You know
your a Chile-Head when you have spare bottles of propane for back-up fuel
in the kitchen.)
