We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

We are charged with sin and unrighteousness. Our Advocate cannot plead our innocence. He cannot plead the extenuating circumstances of our transgressions. But he does plead his own righteousness! He pleads for the non-imputation of sin on the grounds that we are clothed in His own righteousness.
Don Fortner

It is not easy to get the law killed. Something of a legal disposition remains even in the believer while he is in this world. Many a stroke does self and self-righteousness get, but still it revives again. If he were wholly dead to the law, he would be wholly dead to sin. But so far as the law lives, sin lives. They that think they know the gospel well enough betray their ignorance. No man can be too evangelical [gospel-centered]. It will take all his life-time to get a legal temper destroyed.

INGREDIENTS

3 lb Beef brisket
3 ts Salt
1 Celery stalk, with leaves
1 Carrot
1 Onion, small
1 Bay leaf, small
3 Plum tomatoes
5 Peppercorns
1 Beef bone

INSTRUCTIONS

~------------------------------------------------------ ~----------------
Beef brisket boiled with seasoning vegetables gives you the extra benefit
of the broth to use as needed. This broth freezes very well.
~------------------------------------------------------ ~------------------
Chop all vegetables quite coarsely. Put beef and vegetables in a large pot
( a stock pot is ideal) with cold water to cover. Bring to a boil slowly
over medium-low heat. As the water boils, remove the froth that forms as
much as possible. Lower heat to simmer, cover the pot, and cook for 3
hours. The meat will be very tender and the broth a light brown. Remove
meat from the pot and use in any recipe that calls for boiled beef. Strain
broth and use immediately or freeze for future use.
