We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The true Christian is one whose religion is in his heart and life. It is felt by himself in his heart. It is seen by others in his conduct and life. He feels his sinfulness, guilt and badness, and repents. He sees Jesus Christ to be that Divine Savior whom his soul needs, and commits himself to Him. He puts off the old man with his corrupt and carnal habits and puts on the new man. He lives a new and holy life, fighting habitually against the world, the flesh and the devil. Christ Himself is the cornerstone of his Christianity. Ask him in what he trusts for the forgiveness of his many sins, and he will tell you in the death of Christ. Ask him in what righteousness he hopes to stand innocent at the judgment day, and he will tell you it is the righteousness of Christ. Ask him by what pattern he tries to frame his life, and he will tell you that it is the example of Christ. But, beside all this, there is one thing in a true Christian which is eminently peculiar to him. That thing is love to Christ.
J.C. Ryle

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit ( Proverbs 26:4-5 , KJV)... Both statements are true, and are to be taken seriously. In the first proverb, we are taught that we ought not respond to a fool on his level, we ought not to allow ourselves to be brought down to the level of a fool by answering him as foolishly as he has spoken. On the other hand, we are to answer the fool in a way that gives him no dignity, no satisfaction, lest he take himself too seriously. A fool is to be deal with as a fool, but we should not be made fools also in the process.

INGREDIENTS

2/3 c Golden or dark raisins
3 T Dark rum
1 Brioche loaf, recipe
follows halved
1 Stick, 4 ounces unsalted
butter
2 c Milk
2 c Heavy cream
3/4 c Sugar
1 Vanilla bean, halved
8 Eggs

INSTRUCTIONS

The day before, if possible, bring raisins to a boil in a pan of water
and drain. Place plumped raisins in a plastic container that has a
tight-fitting cover and sprinkle with the rum. Preheat the oven to 325
degrees. Melt the butter and cool it slightly. Cut half the brioche
loaf into thin slices. Cut remaining brioche in 1/2-inch dice. Butter
a 2 quart baking dish and add diced brioche. Strew with the raisins
and half the butter. Dip one side of each remaining slice of brioche
into the butter and arrange the bread, buttered side up and slightly
overlapping on top of diced brioche and raisins. Combine the milk,
cream, sugar and vanilla bean in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a
boil over medium heat. Whisk the eggs until liquid in a large mixing
bowl, then strain the milk mixture and whisk it into the eggs. Do not
overbeat or the custard will have a great deal of foam on the surface.
Strain the custard back into the pan and skim the foam from the
surface with a large spoon. Pour the custard over the brioche slices
in the dish, pouring so that the bread is evenly soaked and rises to
the surface. Place the baking dish in another larger pan and pour warm
water into the pan to come halfway up the side of the baking dish.
Bake the bread pudding for about 45 minutes, until the custard is set
and the brioche is an even golden color. Recipe By :COOK'S CHOICE
