What is the commitment level on a first date? It is low – brother and sister in Christ. This certainly calls for care and respect. But it does not make it appropriate or wise for you to share your dirty laundry and open wide your heart. A first date is for wholesome interaction and the beginnings of a relationship, and it should not have the features of intimacy that are safe only in a more committed relationship. This, of course, means that there should be no sexual contact, and a godly man communicates respect for a woman’s character by making no such advances or innuendos (Richard and Sharon Phillips).
We make a great mistake if we think of (pleasing God) as a compartment of life marked “spiritual,” or “religious,” rather than as a total way of life involving pleasing God in all its aspects. We want to learn to be able to say with Paul, “We make it our goal to please Him” (2 Corinthians 5:9).
Walt: I have a great recipe for brisket of beef. It is easy, makes its'
own great gravy and tastes even better as leftovers. This can be cooked
either in slow cooker or the oven. Either way, put in the brisket, mix the
onion soup with 2 cups of water and pour it over the meat. Pour the can of
stewed tomatoes over the brisket. Place the cookies in the liquid, not on
the meat. You can break them up to fit. Seal the pan securely with
aluminum foil. (If in a slow cooker just put on the lid.) Bake at 325 for
three hours without peeking !! Take out the meat, and slice it thinly
against the grain and return it to the pan with the gravy. Reseal and bake
at 225 for about one hour. Make sure all the meat slices are covered by the
liquid so the meat does not dry out. This is tender and delicious. The
