I feel that if God should smite me now, without hope or offer of mercy, to the lowest hell, I should only have what I justly deserve; and I feel that if I be not punished for my sins, or if there be not some plan found by which my sin can be punished in another, I cannot understand how God can be just at all: how shall he be Judge of all the earth, if he suffer offenses to go unpunished?"
Legalism…does not describe the attitude of a Christian who earnestly seeks to please God, but uses the law as a means to that end. A sincere desire to please God is not legalism. Nor does it cause legalism. Legalism results from the actual misuse of the law. Nor does legalism in any sense diminish the goodness of the law. There is nothing wrong with God’s holy law. Woe to the person who disparages the holy law that God wrote on stone with His finger.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time,
beating after each; add milk, vanilla and salt. Pour into pie shell. Bake
at 350 for 15 minutes on low rack of oven; lower heat to 325 and bake for
50-60 minutes more.
