Preaching must pump his heart until he lives and breathes the message. The message will hound him, drive him, even explode within him. So great will be the desire to preach that he will find it difficult to wait for the next time to deliver the message of God (Michael Tucker).
The remedy is to turn back to the cross. Our Lord proved to us the redemptive power of suffering for His sake. But we have to choose it. We are constantly tempted to withdraw into self-protection and anger and defensiveness. But looking to the Lord moment by moment, we can embrace the cross with its pain and see Him use us to communicate more grace to people who aren’t even asking for it. We didn’t ask, and He suffered for us anyway. That kind of love was the only power that could get through to us. And it did.
CHOCOLATE SAUCE
In saucepan, melt butter and cho. over low heat. Add sugar,
Half-and-Half and salt. Bring to a boil, cook over med. heat at a slow
rolling boil, stirring constantly for 5 mins. until thickened. Cover and
refrigerate until needed. When ready, heat choc. sauce in micorwave 20-230
seconds. Add liqueur and stir to combine thoroughly. Serve immediately with
fruit and cake.
For Two: Pour one cup warm Choc. Sauce into dessert fondue pot and place
over burner. On a dinnner plate, attractively arrange pound cake cubes,
bananas, fresh fruit, and marshmallows. Serve with 2 fondue forks and 2
dessert plates.
