God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

There is a radical distinction between natural regret and God-given repentance. The flesh can feel remorse, acknowledge its evil deeds, and be ashamed of itself. However, this sort of disgust with past actions can be quickly shrugged off, and the individual can soon go back to his old wicked ways. None of the marks of true repentance described in 2 Corinthians 7:11 are found in his behavior. Out of a list of 10 men in the Bible who said, “I have sinned,” we believe only five actually repented. They were David (2 Sam. 12:13), Nehemiah (Neh. 1:6), Job (Job 42:5,6), Micah (Micah 7:9), and the prodigal son (Luke 15:18).

After my return to London, I decided to do something to help my brothers in the seminary. I suggested we meet together every morning from six until eight to pray and read the Scriptures. After the evening prayer, my communion with God was so sweet that I would continue praying until after midnight. Then I would go to a brother’s room, and we would pray together until one or two in the morning. Even then, I was sometimes so full of joy that I could not sleep. At six in the morning, I would again call the brethren together for prayer.

INGREDIENTS

4 Hershey Bars; (up to 6)
2 c Sugar
1 lb Real butter; no substitutes
1 c Pecans; chopped fine (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

In a heavy aluminum pan, mix butter and sugar with electric beater until
smooth. Add about 1/4 cup chopped pecans (this step is also
optional....when I use nuts, I sprinkle about 1/2-3/4 cup on top of the
chocolate). Cook on high for 10 minutes. IMPORTANT---Start timer as soon as
you put mixture on stove. It will look creamy at first and then beige and
brown when done. Only cook on high 10 minutes!!!
When 10 minutes is done, pour in a long cookie sheet (jelly roll pan). When
it has set up for a couple of minutes, add three Hershey Bars to the top,
when they melt spread the chocolate out with a spatula. If desired,
sprinkle the top with chopped pecans. Lightly press nuts into chocolate.
Let set several hours or over night. Take out of pan and break into little
pieces.
This is DELICIOUS!
