We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

I acknowledge it often seems more difficult to trust God than to obey Him. The moral will of God given to us in the Bible is rational and reasonable. The circumstances in which we must trust God often appear irrational and inexplicable….Obeying God is worked out within well-defined boundaries of God’s revealed will. Trusting God is worked out in an arena that has no boundaries. We do not know the extent, the duration, or the frequency of the painful, adverse circumstances in which we must frequently trust God. We are always coping with the unknown.

Here game plan when you start to worry and obsess: 1. Name the pressures. You always worry about something. What things tend to hook you?… Anxieties feel endless and infinite – but they're finite and specific. 2. Identify how you express anxiety. How does anxiety show up in your life? 3. Ask yourself, Why am I anxious? Worry always has its inner logic… What do I want, need, crave, expect, demand, and lust after? Or what do I fear either losing or never getting? Identify the specific lust of the flesh. Anxious people “eagerly seek” the gifts more than the Giver. They bank treasure in the wrong place. What is preoccupying me, so that I pursue it with all my heart? 4. Which promise of Jesus [from the Bible] speaks to you most? Grab one promise and work with it. 5. Go to your Father. Talk to Him. Your Father cares about the things you worry about. Your Father knows what you need. Cast your cares upon Him, because He cares for you. 6. Give. Do and say something constructive. Care for someone else. Give to meet human need. In the darkest hole, when life is toughest, there’s always some way to give yourself away.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Dairy L, U, N, C 8 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 pt Fresh clams
8 oz Proscuitto or other interesting bacon, cut into small Piece
3 sm Onions; finely diced
1 1/2 pt Boiling water
1 1/2 lb Potatoes; peeled and diced
Black pepper; freshly ground
1 1/2 pt Milk

INSTRUCTIONS

Shuck clams or steam them open using a little white wine. Keep all the
liquor from the shells.
In a heavy frying pan slowly fry the bacon and onions until golden;
transfer to a saucepan. Add the boiling water, potatoes and pepper and
simmer for about 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Add the
clams, with their liquor, and the milk. Bring to the boil and cook for 5
minutes, then remove from the heat and allow to sit for 1 hour.
Just before serving, reheat the chowder. Ladle into bowls over crumbled
crackers. You can get rid of alot of anger by putting your packets of
crackers in a plastic bag and throwing them on the floor repeatedly, until
they reach the required state of crumb. Or stamp on them, says my friend
Claire Macdonald.
