We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The decrees of God are the eternal plans of God whereby, before the creation of the world, He determined to bring about everything that happens. This doctrine is similar to the doctrine of providence, but here we are thinking about God’s decisions before the world was created, rather than His providential actions in time. His providential actions are the outworking of the eternal decrees that He made long ago.

An adventure awaits us in reading Christian books. Once we see the connection between the Word of God and the books we read, we will embark on a search and discovery mission in the expanding field of human knowledge, where all truth is God's truth and Jesus Christ is the center that holds all things together. A nonreading Christian is a contradiction in terms. With the Bible as our primary source, we read other books that serve as teaching tools for the Holy Spirit in order that we may become men and women of God, 'thoroughly equipped for every good work.'

Dairy Irish 2 Servings

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c Chilled whipping cream
3 ts Sugar
1 1/3 c Hot strong coffee
6 tb (3 oz.) Irish whiskey

INSTRUCTIONS

Someone requested some Irish beverage recipes recently, but I can't find
that newsletter. Here are 2 recipes from May 1996 Bon Appetit magazine--p.
124, 188. This issue focused totally on the country of Ireland and it's
cuisine; I loved it-cover to cover. I must admit that I have a liking for
that great Irish beverage export--Bailey's Irish cream (on the rocks);-)
Place whipping cream and 2 teaspoons sugar in medium bowl. Whisk until
cream holds firm peaks. Refrigerate cream up to 30 minutes. Warm 2 Irish
coffee glasses(small glass mugs with handles) or heatproof stemmed glasses
by running very hot water into them. Dry quickly. Place 1/2 teaspoon sugar
in each warm glass. Pour in hot coffee and stir to dissolve sugar. Add 3
tablespoons Irish whiskey to each. Spoon chilled cream over coffee in each
glass and serve. Posted to KitMailbox Digest by Paula Thompson
