Consequently, unless the Scriptures constitute the basis for all the structural elements of a sermon and unless the expositor labors diligently in the context of each of the texts he cites, a sermon will inevitably lack the power of the Word of Truth rightly divided, and hearers will be misled, both in the substance of what is taught and in the example of Bible study methodology. The preacher must lead his people into the text, not away from it.
Confession is the open admission to God of our sin… [It] means to admit our guilt, assent to God’s sovereign standards, and agree with God that our actions are unacceptable… Confession is not trivial or just a quick naming of the sin. It is a deep admission of an offense to God… A deep spirit of contrition accompanies confession. There is remorse over our sin… [And] confession needs to be accompanied by repentance.
Standard procedure---put crystal malt in cold water, heat to just shy of
boil and sparge into brewpot. Add malt extracts and water, bring to
boil. Add Brewer's Gold hops, boil a little over 1 hour. Stop boil, add
Cascade hops and chill on the way into fermenter. I tossed the dry yeast
directly into the fermenter atop the cooled wort. The yeast started
flocculating within an hour and by the next morning the air lock was
burping continuously. Today, 4 days later, it is completely fermented
out and I'm going to transfer it into secondary probably before I go to
bed. Primary Ferment: 4 days
