We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Only a morbid fanatic can take pleasure in the sufferings he inflicts upon himself; only an insensitive fool can take pleasure in the sufferings that are the consequences of his folly; and only a convinced Christian can take pleasure in sufferings endured “for Christ's sake,” for he alone has been initiated into the divine secret, that it is only when he is “weak,” having thrown himself unreservedly in penitence and humility upon the never-failing mercies of God, that he is “strong,” with a strength not his own, but belonging to the Lord of all power and might.
R.V.G. Tasker

There is a conscience in all men by nature. Let this never be forgotten. Fallen, lost, desperately wicked as we are all born into the world, God has taken care to leave Himself a witness in our bosoms. It is a poor blind guide, without the Holy Spirit. It can save no one. It leads no one to Christ. It may be seared and trampled under foot. But there is such a thing as conscience in every man, accusing or excusing him; and Scripture and experience alike declare it (Rom. 2:15).

NOTES : Sue Shull of Newport News "This is a great cookie that is easy to
make. It's a favorite of my family. The ingredients are probably found in
most homes, and the delicious flavor of this cookie makes it great for any
celebration, especially birthdays. When I read about the contest, I thought
of this cookie immediately. A friend that I met in Newport News gave me
this recipe. She is a dear, warm person who you feel comfortable with the
first time you meet her. Newport News is known for its hospitality and
warmth to people who visit here. My husband and I moved here almost 26
years ago, and we loved it here. When we talk about home we mean Newport
News, not where we were born and raised."
