God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The Scripture promises rewards for our service as a motivation for faithful ministry. And for the Christian, at least, this promise is true and guaranteed regardless of the apparent success or rewards received here in time. Sometimes it appears that doing what is right goes without obvious blessing or reward. Faithful service may not lead to recognition, a promotion, or the raise one counted on – maybe not even a thank you. And often, faithfulness, especially when it is to Christ and biblical principles, can lead to persecution. But as Christians we must never allow the absence of immediate reward or blessing to deter us from steadfast faithfulness… The promise of Scripture is that if we continue to be faithful to the Lord, we will eventually receive rewards for our efforts. If not in this life, definitely in the life to come (1 Cor. 15:58).
J. Hampton Keathley

We learn throughout the years that God is faithful. You know when God gave new exhortations to the Israelites; often He reminded them of His faithfulness during the Exodus. He wanted the Jews to realize that He could be trusted in the present because of His faithfulness in the past. The same principle applies to our lives as well. The more we see His faithful hand shaping the events of our lives in the past, the more we realize that He can be trusted in the present. In hindsight, we can recall the situations when God either removed a trial or gave us sufficient grace to endure the trial. We can recall the good ways He has shepherded us along life’s journey. He has never disappointed us. Through experience, we learn that God keeps His Word and never fails on His promises. We learn that He is good. We learn that God can be trusted.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
All about 1 Servings

INGREDIENTS

1 Fresh coconut
1 Ice pick or nail
1 Mallet or hammer
1 Strong Awl Or Screw Driver With A Pointed; Tip
1 Fine Grating Blade For Food Processor

INSTRUCTIONS

TOOLS NEEDED
Tap a hole in each "eye" of the coconut---there are three. Turn coconut
upside down over a small bowl, and drain all liquid. This liquid is not
coconut milk; however it may be strained and used as a flavoring ingredient
after heating over low heat and reducing to half of its original volume. It
will have a strong coconut flavor. After drained, place coconut on a cookie
sheet and bake in a 350°F oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the shell
cracks. Remove from oven, wrap in a towel and tap with a hammer. Separate
shell from meat (meat will separate easily). Peel off brown skin with a
vegetable peeler. The coconut meat can now be grated by hand or cut into
pieces and processed in your food processor, using the steel blade or the
grating/shredding disc.
