We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Husbands, do you love your wives enough to die for them? Wives, do you love your husbands enough to live for them? That is what the latter part of Ephesians 5 is all about. The husband must learn to love his wife as Jesus Christ loves His church. A husband, if need be, should be willing to give up his life for his wife. On the other hand, a wife should so love her husband that she is willing to live for him. She must be willing to pour her life into being his helper. This involves living for him, just as the church is required to live for Jesus Christ.

The ultimate issue in question is the authority of the Bible over our lives. Who is in charge? Who gets the final word? And the way that men (even saved but sinful men) avoid God’s authority is through autonomy: a self-determination that pursues self-sufficiency producing self-rule. It may not be an “intentional” self-determination – indeed we may be unthinkingly swept along by the influences of our culture – but the outcome is the same: a self-sufficiency (in place of God’s sufficiency through His Word) that results in self-rule.

INSTRUCTIONS

GARNISH
Mix the chicken thoroughly with the garlic and yoghurt. Cover and set
aside for 2 hours. You can leave it overnight in the fridge if you
wish, but bring to room temperature before cooking.
Heat the ghee or butter over a medium heat and fry the onions until
they are caramelised (7-8 minutes). Lift them with a slotted spoon
and press down with another spoon to remove excess fat. Drain them on
absorbent paper.
In the same fat, fry the ginger, coriander, cumin, turmeric and chilli
powder for 30 seconds and add the chicken. Increase the heat to high,
stir and fry the chicken until it changes colour (4-5 minutes).
Add the water, salt and fried onions. Bring to the boil, reduce the
heat to low, cover the pan and cook for 15 minutes or until the
chicken is tender.
Stir in the cream, simmer gently for 2-3 minutes, remove from the
heat and garnish with the egg and tomatoes. Scatter the fresh
coriander all over and serve with fried rice.
