God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
Now, if our Lord and Master selected this true Jerusalem blade of the Word of God, let us not hesitate for a moment but grasp and hold fast this one true weapon of the saints in all times. Cast away the wooden sword of carnal reasoning. Trust not in human eloquence but arm yourselves with the solemn declaration of God, who cannot lie, and you need not fear Satan and all his hosts. Jesus selected the best weapon. What was best for Him is best for you.
All of God’s emotions, including His love in all its aspects, cannot be divorced from God’s knowledge, God’s power, God’s will. If God loves, it is because He chooses to love; if He suffers, it is because He chooses to suffer. God is impassible in the sense that He sustains no “passion,” no emotion, that makes Him vulnerable from the outside, over which He has no control, or which He has not foreseen.
Saute onion in butter until golden brown. Add broth and potato and
simmer until potato is tender. Add corn and milk, blend well. Season
with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir some of
chowder into egg. Add mixture to sauce pan and blend well. Simmer until
heated through. Serve.
