We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Christian leadership is motivated by love and given over to service. It is leadership that has been subjected to the control of our Lord Jesus Christ and His example. The difficulty of the commands is merely a reflection of the greatness of the Gospel. Jesus' expectation is built on his anticipation of what God will do in the lives of His people! Jesus demands the humanly impossible precisely because His provisions are supernatural. The magnitude of Jesus' commands must mean, therefore, that they are tied to the grandest promise of all, namely, the promise that God himself will work in every circumstance to conform us to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:28-29).

Cranberry Ham

INGREDIENTS

1 Smoked; (5- to 7-pound) fully cooked ham half
Whole cloves
1 cn (8-ounce) cranberry sauce
1/4 c Firmly packed brown sugar
3 tb Cider vinegar
1 tb Steak sauce
1/2 ts Dry mustard
1/4 ts Ground allspice
1/4 ts Ground cloves
Garnishes: salad greens; red grapes

INSTRUCTIONS

Remove and discard skin from ham. Score fat on ham in a diamond design, and
stud with whole cloves. Place ham, fat side up, on a rack in a shallow
roasting pan.
Combine cranberry sauce and next 6 ingredients. Baste ham with 1/4 cup
mixture.
Bake, covered, at 325° for 1 hour. Uncover and baste ham. Bake, uncovered,
1 more hour or until a meat thermometer inserted in the thickest portion
registers 140°, basting every 15 minutes. Garnish, if desired.
Makes 10 to 14 servings.
