We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Someone has said that more is learned from what is “caught” that “taught”… Though it is certainly important to communicate God’s Word didactically, it’s what people see in our lives that gives weight to our words. That is why the qualifications for elders are so important. If we are to “teach the Word of God” effectively, we must simultaneously “live the Word of God.”
Gene Getz

It should fill us with joy, that infinite wisdom guides the affairs of the world. Many of its events are shrouded in darkness and mystery, and inextricable confusion sometimes seems to reign. Often wickedness prevails, and God seems to have forgotten the creatures that He has made. Our own path through life is dark and devious, and beset with difficulties and dangers. How full of consolation is the doctrine, that infinite wisdom directs every event, brings order out of confusion, and light out of darkness, and, to those who love God, causes all things, whatever be their present aspect and apparent tendency, to work together for good.

INSTRUCTIONS

11. When cakes are completely cool, brush tops and sides with additional
rum. Wrap cakes in large pieces of rum-soaked cheesecloth. You'll need
about 1/4 to 1/3 cup rum for each cake, depending on the size of the piece
of cheesecloth. Double-wrap in heavy aluminum foil, sealing well. Allow
cakes to mature for at least 2 weeks before serving.
Storage: Store the wrapped cakes in a cool dry place. (A basement is
ideal.) Remoisten with rum after 2 days and again after 2 weeks. Check
again for moistness after 1 month, but remoistening will probably no longer
be necessary if cakes were well wrapped. They will keep up to 6 months. In
warmer weather, store them in the refrigerator. Serve at room temperature.
