In that day when we stand before the judgment seat of Christ, the whole “edifice” of our earthly works will be tested by the fire of God. Some impressive superstructures will be reduced to rubble, because they are built only for show – not out of lasting material. Like sets on a movie lot, these “buildings” may be magnificent and appear genuine even on close inspection, but the fire will test them for what they are really made of, not for what they look like. All the wood, hay and stubble will be burned away.

INGREDIENTS

1 1/4 c Flour
1 c Sugar
1/2 c Unsweetened cocoa
1/4 c Cornstarch
1/2 t Baking soda
1/2 t Salt
4 Egg whites
1 c Water
1/2 c Light corn syrup, or dark
1/3 c Cocoa
2/3 c Powdered sugar
1 t Vanilla extract
1 Egg white
1 T Water or as needed

1996 09:40:55 -0700 (PDT) Dear All,  This recipe is  by Debbie Fields,
of Mrs. Field's cookies fame. It has some  differences from other cakes
that I have seen posted here, so I have  hopes that it will not have
the problems that some have reported.  Source: THE DESSERT SHOW, SHOW
#DS3229  Cake: preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 9 inch square
baking pan  with cooking spray. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar,
cocoa,  cornstarch, soda and salt. In medium bowl, whisk together egg
whites,  water and corn syrup. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture
until  smooth. Pour into baking pan. Bake 1/2 hour or until cake
springs  back when lightly touched. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes.
Glaze: beat together cocoa, powdered sugar, vanilla, egg white and
water by droplets. Drizzle glaze over warm cake. To serve, cut into
