German Apple Torte

INGREDIENTS

1 Egg
3/4 c Sugar
1/2 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1 c Peeled, diced apples
1/2 c Chopped walnuts
1 ts Vanilla or grated rind of 1 orange

INSTRUCTIONS

Quick, easy, and a year round delight!
Beat egg with an electric mixer until light and lemon colored. Gradually
beat in sugar until mixture is thick and pale. (This beating is very
important to prevent sugariness.) Mix flour, baking powder,salt, and gently
fold into egg mixture.  Stir in apples, walnuts and vanilla. Generously
butter an 8 inch square pan, pour in batter. Bake in 350 F oven 35-40
minutes or until top is golden brown and crunchy. Serve warm. Serves 6.
