God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

In any discussion of tongues, it is important to note that they were not just spiritual gifts. They also were designated as a “sign gift” and part of a cluster of gifts named by Jesus in Mark 16. These sign gifts were given to individuals to authenticate the message of the gospel. The early Christians had no New Testament in the early years following the ascension of Christ. As the gospel went to Jew and Gentile alike, it needed the witness of the signs to undergird its authority, until the written Scriptures established that authority base.
John Napier

To preach the eternal lostness of unbelievers without tears would be a cold and dead orthodoxy indeed. And to teach it without a great emphasis upon our own responsibility, in the light of hell, to do all we can, regardless of the cost, so that men might know the gospel – that would be totally ugly and opposed to this biblical message that those who are lost are my kind.

Dairy Pasta 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

1 Heads roasted garlic; * see note (up to 2)
1 tb Olive oil
1 c Heavy cream
1/4 c Sour cream
1/4 c Parmesan cheese; grated
Salt; to taste
Fresh ground pepper; to taste
1 pk (14 oz) frozen or fresh tortellini OR
1 lb Fettucine
1 tb Butter (up to 2 tbsp.)

INSTRUCTIONS

*NOTE: To roast garlic, choose large heads. Cut the top off to expose the
cloves (a serrated knife is best to do this). Place the head in a square of
aluminum foil with the head facing up. Drizzle with 1 to 2 tablespoons
olive oil. Seal aluminum foil and roast for 1 hour in a 350 degree oven.
Let cool, separate heads into cloves and pinch each clove to squeeze out
the garlic. Place roasted garlic into a blender or food processor. Add the
olive oil and 1/4 cup cream and whirl until garlic is pulverized. Add rest
of the cream, sour cream, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Whirl to
combine. Sauce will be thick at this point. Set aside. Cook pasta al dente;
drain. Melt butter in a skillet. Add pasta and toss with the butter until
coated. Add the sauce, cook and stir until sauce becomes thin. Simmer for
10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve immediately with extra parmesan
cheese sprinkled on top. Recipe from and typed by Lynn Thomas dcqp82a.
