INGREDIENTS

1/2 c 1 stick butter
1/2 c Solid vegetable shortening
1 1/4 c Firmly packed light brown
sugar
1 Egg
1 Banana, mashed about 1/2
cup
2 1/4 c All-purpose flour
1 t Baking soda
1/4 t Salt
1 t Cinnamon
1/2 t Ground nutmeg
2 c Quick-cooking oats, uncooked
1 c Coarsely chopped walnuts
1 12 oz "M&M's"r

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350ø F. In large bowl with electric mixer, cream
butter vegetable shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg
and banana; blending well. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon
and nutmeg; blend into creamed mixture. Blend in oats and nuts. By
hand, stir in "M&M's"(r) Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Drop by
tablespoonfuls about 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake 8
to 10 minutes just until set. Do not over bake. Cool 1 minute  before
removing to wire rack; cool completely. Store in tightly  covered
container. Notes: A colorful twist to a favorite flavor  combination!
