Maple Pecan Squares

Eggs Desserts 2 Dozen

INGREDIENTS

1 1/4 c All-purpose flour
1/4 c Brown sugar
1/2 c Melted butter
2/3 c Brown sugar
3/4 c Maple syrup
1/4 c Butter
1/4 t Salt, optional
1 c Pecan halves
1/2 t Vanilla
2 T All-purpose flour
2 Eggs, beaten

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350ø.  For crust, mix flour, sugar and butter; press
into an 11"x7" baking pan.  Bake for 5 minutes.  Remove from oven.
Increase oven heat to 450øF.  To make the topping, simmer sugar and
syrup for 5 minutes.  Mix in  the rest of the ingredients; pour over
base.  Bake for 10 minutes;  reduce heat to 350øF and bake for 20
minutes.  Cut squares when  cool.  Store in airtight container.  Makes
