We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

In times of doubt and uncertainty, remember that faith can move mountains. Believe in the power of God and His ability to work miracles in your life. Trusting in Him will bring you peace and strength that surpasses all understanding.

Faith makes all evil good to us, and all good better; unbelief makes all good evil, and all evil worse. Faith laughs at the shaking of the spear; unbelief trembles at the shaking of a leaf, unbelief starves the soul; faith finds food in famine, and a table in the wilderness. In the greatest danger, faith says, "I have a great God." When outward strength is broken, faith rests on the promises. In the midst of sorrow, faith draws the sting out of every trouble, and takes out the bitterness from every affliction.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Eggs Canadian Cookies, Canadian, Family favs 1 Batch

INGREDIENTS

1/2 c Sugar
1/2 c Melted shortening
1/2 c Molasses
1 Egg
1/2 c Boiling water with 1 tsp bkg. soda added
2 c Flour
1 ts Salt
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Cloves
1 ts Nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix in order given. The dough will be quite soft for nice spreading
cookies or you can add a bit more flour for a slightly firmer dough and a
more upstanding cookie. They will still be moist and irresistable. Drop by
heaping tsp. or T onto sheet, depending on size of cookie you want. I make
nice 4-5 bite size ones...my brother always made enormous cookies. (I don't
know if it's ungr. or greased.....I always grease it to be on the safe
side) :)
Bake in preheated 350 oven for 10 to 15 min. Cool on racks.
Note: This recipe is originally from the Nova Scotia area and is a beloved
recipe that came from a neighbourhood mom in Ontario. I am only sharing it
because I can't stand the thought of kids worldwide growing up
molasses-cookieless. :)
