Sharon Barbour’s Apple Crisp

INGREDIENTS

6 Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled, and sliced thin (up to 8)
1 tb Lemon juice
1/2 c Granulated sugar
1/4 c Brown sugar, packed
1 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Nutmeg
3 tb Flour
3/4 c Rolled or quick-cooking oats
3/4 c Flour
1/4 c Granulated sugar
1/4 c Brown sugar, packed
1/3 c Margerine, softened

INSTRUCTIONS

TOPPING
Place apples in a large casserole dish. drizzle lemon juice over. Combine
remaining ingredients for filling and toss with apples until thoroughly
coated.
Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over apples. Bake in a preheated
350 degree oven for about 45 minutes, or until center is bubbly.
Personal note: The first time I made this was October, 1995. All the kids
came back here and spent the night after the homecoming dance, and I made
this for breakfast next morning. Rave reviews! It has since become a
regular for us.
