Sour Cream Banana Cake

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c Shortening
1 1/3 c Sugar
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla
2 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
1 ts Soda
3/4 ts Salt
1 c Sour cream
1 c Mashed bananas
1/2 c Chopped pecans

INSTRUCTIONS

Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla;
blend thoroughly. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add to
creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry
ingredi- ents. Add bananas and nuts, mixing until just blended. Spoon
batter into greased and floured 13x9x2-inch pan. Bake at 350 for 40-45
minutes. Cool and frost with Cream Cheese Frosting (see recipe elsewhere).
