Spiced Pecan French Toast

INGREDIENTS

5 Eggs
1 1/2 c Half and half
1/2 c Toasted ground pecans
1/8 c Sugar
1/2 ts Vanilla extract
2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Nutmeg
1/2 ts Ground ginger
1/2 ts Allspice
Zest 1 orange
12 sl French bread; ( if bread is small
; use three slices
; per-person)
6 tb Unsalted butter
Maple syrup

INSTRUCTIONS

In a large bowl combine eggs, half and half, pecans, and sugar and mix
well. Add vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and orange zest and
mix well. Add bread and soak for about 10 minutes. Heat a large saute pan
with about 2 tablespoons of butter and place about 1/3 of the slices in the
pan and cook each side about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Keep the
french toast in a warm oven while you finish cooking the rest of the toast.
Serve warm with maple syrup and butter.
