Steamed Ginger Pudding

INGREDIENTS

2 c All-purpose flour
2 tb Granulated sugar
1 ts Ground ginger
1/4 c Hard margarine (or butter), softened
1/2 c Raisins
2 tb Fancy molasses
1 ts Baking soda
1 c Milk

INSTRUCTIONS

Measure flour, sugar and ginger into medium bowl.  Add margarine.  Mix
until crumbly.  Stir in raisins to coat with flour mixture.
Add molasses.
Mix baking soda and milk in small bowl.  Add to flour mixture.  Stir in
mix.  Turn into greased 1 1/2 quart pudding pan.  Cover with double square
greased foil, tying sides down with string.  Place in steamer with boiling
water 2/3 up sides of pan.  Steam for 2 hours, adding more boiling water as
needed to keep level up.  Serves 6. Typed in MMFormat by
