INGREDIENTS

3 tb Oil
1 500 gram pac Cumberland sausages; (1lb)
125 g Plain flour; (4oz)
1 md Sized egg
200 ml Milk; (7 floz)
75 ml Water; (3 floz)
2 tb Freshly chopped thyme
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 Onion; chopped
75 g Mushrooms; chopped (3 oz)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, add the sausages and cook until
browned.
2. Place the flour and egg in a bowl and gradually whisk in the milk and
water. Add the thyme and seasoning to taste.
3. Place the remaining oil in an ovenproof dish or roasting tin and place
in a preheated oven 200 C or 400 F, Gas Mark 6 for 2-3 minutes to heat.
4. Carefully remove from the oven, add the sausages, onions and mushrooms
to the dish and pour in the batter.
5. Return to the oven for 35-40 minutes until risen and golden.
