center of an angel food cake pan and begin cutting.
Q: How do I prevent my pie crust from getting soggy? A: Before baking,
brush raw egg onto pastry shell. Bake for 30 minutes. Use glass pie pans.
Q: How do I know when my steak is done to my liking? A: Use a metal skewer
and place it in the center of the meat. Wait about 10 seconds and then
touch the tip of the skewer. If it is barely warm, the meat is rare. If it
is hot, it is well done.
Q: How do I know when the chicken is cooked? A: The chicken is cooked when
the juices run clear and the legs move easily in the sockets.
Q: What do I do if I scorch my stew? A: Ladle out as much stew as possible
that is not burned into a clean pan.
Q: I've burned the cake! What should I do? A: Cut off burned edges or use a
grater to grate them off. Cut into cubes and mix with berries and whipped
cream.
Q: How do I know if the center of my cake is cooked enough? A: Pierce the
middle with a piece of uncooked spaghetti. It should come out moist but not
doughy.
