Wild Rice With Toasted Almonds And Dried Cherry:

INGREDIENTS

2 c Wild rice
1/2 c Dried cherries
1/3 c Toasted almonds, slivered
3 T Butter

INSTRUCTIONS

This goes well with Duck.  Soak dried cherries in water, apple juice,
brandy or any type of  liquor for a minimum of 30 minutes.  Chop
cherries and toasted almonds a bit.  Simmer wild rice with cherries for
45-60 minutes in lightly salted  water, until tender, but not mushy.
Add butter. Salt to taste.  Mix in toasted slivered almonds, reserving
some to sprinkle over top  of of dish for serving  Serve hot with duck
