We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

God is unfeeling? Ha! Alongside him we're as cold as stones

The Purpose Of Tribulation

The Purpose Of Tribulation THE PURPOSE OF TRIBULATIONS Matt. 24:21

INTRODUCTION:

  1. We wonder WHAT will take place
  2. The second question is WHY will it take place?
  3. GREAT TRIBULATIONS WILL DRIVE ISRAEL TO JESUS CHRIST
  4. Jesus came in His Father’s name and was not what the Jews expected in their Messiah
  5. The Antichrist will fullfill all their expectations
  6. In the middle of the week he will renounce God and set up his image in the Holy of Holies. He will require that everyone worship the image at the cost of their life.
  7. The Jews will then turn to Christ (Ro. 11:24-28)

II. GREAT TRIBULATIONS WILL PUNISH THE UNGODLY

  1. Ro. 1:18, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness”
  2. Jude 14-15, “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

III. GREAT TRIBULATIONS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CHURCH

  1. Ro. 14:10, “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.”
  2. There is a separation between Jew and Christian
    1. Is. 65:11-16
    2. 1 Thes. 5:9, “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ”
    3. 2 Pet. 2:9, “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished”
  3. Christ’s appearing and His coming are separate events
    1. 2 Thes. 2:1
    2. Titus 2:13
  4. The Church will not participate in the great tribulations
    1. Is. 26:19-21
    2. Rev. 3:10
    3. Is. 57:1-2, “The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.”
    4. Rev. 19:7-8
