God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The most godly people, therefore, in your congregations, will find it worth their labor to learn the very words of a catechism. If, then, you would safely edify them, and firmly establish them, be diligent in this work.
Richard Baxter

Since the Renaissance, and more particularly since the Enlightenment, the world-views have been developed which involve skepticism about basis Christian tenants. Such are the agnosticism which denies that God is knowable, the rationalism which denies that He is incomprehensible, the idealism which denies that He is transcendent, and the existentialism which denies rationality in His relationships with us. When these un- and anti-biblical principles seep into men’s theologies at presuppositional level, as today they frequently do, faithful interpretation of Holy Scripture becomes impossible.

Testimony of Alex Dunlap

God saved me at the age of 25, September, 1939, as I turned from works, merits, sacraments, sacramentals, and trusted totally in the finished once for all blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for me, never to be repeated, continued, renewed, or re-applied.

Mrs. Florence Cassebaum, a neighbor, invited us to attend evangelistic meetings at a Fundamental Church, Grace Chapel, Havertown, Pa. I had been confirmed in the Episcopal Church of Redemption, Philadelphia, by Bishop Hart, at the age of 12. Later, I completed the correspondence course in doctrine given by the Roman Catholic knits of Columbus. The night of my conversion, I saw from the Bible the errors of ritualism, formalism, godfathers, infant baptism, dependence upon systems and organizations, whether religious or fraternal (John 1:12). I saw that Biblical conversion results in a change of life. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). The smoking, social drinking, dancing, Hollywood movies, and other interests incompatible with the Word of God and the new life in Christ vanished away. The new life brought new desires, new associations, a love for Goes Word.

I attended Philadelphia School of the Bible (now Philadelphia College of Bible), was Biblically baptized, untied with Grace Chapel, and have been there ever since, serving awhile as Moderator, and for 16 years as Chairman of the Grace Chapel Missionary Society, giving towards the support of 140 missionaries around $125,000 annually.

The Lord led into fulltime service and the formation of the Conversion Center, a home and foreign mission to reach Roman Catholics and “whosoever will” with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ, as contrasted with the false gospel and false Christs of Romanism, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnessism, Communism, Christian Scientism, etc.
