God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

How are you to avoid falling into sexual sin? The answer is this: while you struggle with unfulfilled sexual desires, the last thing you should do is to toy with them. Human sexuality operates on a positive-feedback system. Each stimulus is designed not to leave you satisfied but to increase your desire until you finally join in sexual intercourse (Richard and Sharon Phillips).

The faith exercised in prayer is faith in the God who sovereignly accomplishes His will. When we pray, our faith recognizes, explicitly or implicitly, the overruling providential purposes of God. We may at times be given insight into that will, enabling us to pray with absolute confidence in God’s plan to answer as we ask. But surely those cases are rare – more rare even than our subjective, emotional desires would lead us to suspect.

Interesting reading:

Miller, D. G. (1962) “Patterns of immunological deficiency in lymphomas and leukaemia.” Ann. Intern. Med. 57:703

Relevance: Shows paradigm awareness of ability of the leukemia/sarcomas to produce immunodeficiencies since at least 1962. Other references (not shown) suggest knowledge of this phenomenon even prior to World War II. See works by E. A. Kabat.

While this single reference is by no means a claim to finding general interest in the area by science in the 1960s this is only one of literally THOUSANDS of research papers on the same subject.
