We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Since the Scriptures tell us in several places that the Christian life is a life lived by faith (Rom. 1:17; Gal. 2:20), some may feel that personal resolve and strenuous effort have no place. While no one should neglect or minimize the necessity of faith as it relates to Christian sanctification, no one should forget that Christian faith is not passive. Christian faith works itself out through personal resolve, self-discipline, and effort.

Jesus Knows Your Name

Jesus Knows Your Name

Jesus Knows Your Name. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. John 10:14

I received a clipping that pointed out an interesting part about shepherds . Sheep in a flock all look alike to the untrained eye, but a good shepherd can tell them apart. Usually he does this by recognizing their defects and peculiar traits. A man who was tending a large flock explained this to a Christian friend. ” See that sheep over there?” said the shepherd. “Notice how it toes in a little. The one behind it has a squint; the next one has a patch of wool off it’s back; ahead is one with a distinguishing black mark.” Looking over the flock, the friend was impressed that the shepherd could be so familiar with each animal. Then he thought about Christ, the Chief Shepherd . Like a sheepherder, He also knows the individual marks of the members of His flock, and He watches over each with discerning love and sympathetic understanding. He notes the doubts, fears, trials and defeats that disturb their peace, and He comes to their aid.

Fellow Christians, you or I may appear to the world to be just another face in the crowd, a number in a computer, but “the Lord knows those who are His”(2 Tim.2:19). People may pay no attention to us, or they may refuse to allow for our inadequacies. Jesus, however, who knows all about us, graciously forgives our sins and ministers strength to our weaknesses.

How this truth shroud comfort our hearts! Our Good Shepherd not only knows our name(John 10:30), but He also knows our needs. -H.G.B.

My sheep I know, they are My own,

I leave them not in trials alone;

I will be with them to the end,

Their Hope, their Joy,their dearest Friend….

GOD DOES NOT LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE IMPORTANT; YOU ARE IMPORTANT BECAUSE GOD LOVES YOU…..
