We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

None have assurance at all times. As in a walk that is shaded with trees and chequered with light and shadow, some tracks and paths in it are dark and others are sunshine. Such is usually the life of the most assured Christian.
Ezekiel Hopkins

Too many singles think that life starts only with marriage. But singles must cultivate a purposeful life of Christian growth and service. You are not stuck in a holding pattern, just waiting to land at the great airport of life. The habits you develop as a single will carry over into marriage, and you will probably pass them on to your children. Remember, it is death – not a wedding – that removes every vestige of sin and presents us glorious before God. As singles, we must cultivate godly habits and the fruit of the Spirit that enables us to lead holy and effective lives (Richard and Sharon Phillips).

PROPITIATION

Author: Jim Fox

Propitiation is defined in Websters Dictionary as “to cause to become favorably inclined”; “win or regain the good will of”; “appease or conciliate (sacrifices)”

Jesus bore on the cross God’s righteous judgement of our sin, so that by His death God is propitiated. “being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith.” (Rom 3:24-25)

In case at this point you are wondering why this propitiation is needed let me qoute from Rom. 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Christ died in our place when He was crucified. If we do not accept the price Christ paid for our sins and have faith in Him, we will not be saved and we ourselves will then have to pay for the penalty of our sin… which is eternal death.

Paul in 1 Corinthians declares “for you have been bought with a price”.

Again who is it that paid that price? Jesus! “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)
