Green Goddess Salad Dressing

INGREDIENTS

1 c Mayonaise
1/2 c Commercial sour cream
1/3 c Finely minced parsley
3 tb Finely minced chives or green onions
3 tb Anchovy paste or finely minced anchovies
3 tb Tarragon wine vinegar
1 tb Lemon juice
1 Clove garlic; crushed or grated
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
2 cups dressing.

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine all ingredients. Chill; it mellows and thickens on standing. Makes
I found this recipe in an old Betty Crocker cookbook and it says, "Most
popular at a large San Francisco hotel. Especially delicious on salad
greens and sea food. For a milder flavored thicker dressing ,omit vinegar.
