NOTES : The deep, complex flavor comes from Guinness stout. If you can't
find Guinness, substitute another band of stout. This recipe also calls for
maple syrup. The best kind to use is the dark amber kind, if you can find
it. Make sure you use real maple syrup, no matter what color you choose. A
ploughman's lunch is traditional pub fare throughout England. you can serve
your own at home. Arrange a thick slab of Cheddar cheese, pickles, chutney,
and a slice or two of this bread on this plate. Wash it down with a pint of
stout. Measurements are for the Black and Decker, Betty Crocker,
Breadman/Trillium, Hitachi, Large Oster, Large Toastmaster, and

A Message from our Provider:

“We can do nothing, we say sometimes, we can only pray. That, we feel, is a terribly precarious second-best. So long as we can fuss and work and rush about, so long as we can lend a hand, we have some hope; but if we have to fall back upon God — ah, then things must be critical indeed! #A.J. Gossip”
