Karithopita (athenian Walnut Cake)

INGREDIENTS

1/2 c 1 stick sweet butter at
room temperature
1 c Sugar
3 Eggs, slightly beaten
2 t Baking powder
1 t Ground cinammon
1 pn Salt
2 c Flour
2 c Chopped walnuts
2 c Honey
1 c Water

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Beat the butter and sugar with a
wooden spoon. Add the eggs. Stir the baking powder, cinnamon, salt  and
flour together and mix in the butter mixture until soft and  pliable.
Add the walnuts and bake in a greased loaf pan 30 to 35  minutes or
until the top is golden brown. To make the syrup, boil the  honey and
water 5 minutes and pour over the warm cake. Let stand 1  hour before
